Drew curated a beautiful instrumental playlist for springtime. Get yrself outside (weather permitting!) and give it a listen.
This playlist is dedicated to the three stages I experienced during and after my first heartbreak: I went from weepy to angry to empowered. The songs included in each playlist are the songs that got me through the pain; each made me realize I am going to be okay; that there is beauty in the hurt.
I’ve always been fascinated with the vastness of space. It’s quite amazing how small we really are in comparison to the never ending void beyond our little Earth. Just recently NASA discovered seven new Earth-sized planets 40 light years away!! With its techno beats and wavy melodies, I compiled this space inspired playlist featuring a variety of artists such as Father John Misty and Mac Demarco. Hope you enjoy!
I stumbled upon the British T.V. show Skins only a few weeks ago; it’s a series following the lives of a group of teens trying to forge an identity, form friendships, and navigate through the teenage world of sex, drugs, and parties. In only the span of several days, I’ve come to adore and care deeply for Effy Stonem more than any other character. She taught me that trying to control a wild, tumultuous world is impossible. Life is simply an unstoppable force. This playlist is an ode to Effy, the mysterious, introspective, rebellious, free-spirited, daredevil queen. Hopefully, it’ll compel you to whip out some pink hair dye and sparkly pumps and dance to your heart’s content until the sun rises again. Enjoy!
In a few months I’m going to be moving from South Florida to New York for college and I can’t tell you how nervous I am. Leaving my family and friends along with my beloved dog/son, Jack, is going to be quite the transition. I needed a playlist to remind me of home; a playlist that can transport my mind to back to my warmest memories. These songs open with dreamy guitar strings and enchanting vocals that can take any listener to their happy place. Great for long haul flights, road trips, or rainy days. Hope you enjoy!

I’ve been prepping my whole life for this moment. Kind of kidding, kind of not. I grew up in San Diego and I grew up curating playlists for the sole purpose of watching the ocean go by from my car seat. We didn’t take our paradise for granted. We soaked up the beauty of the beach whenever we could, no matter how inconvenient. My high school memories look like a glittering montage of me and my girlfriends in old convertibles, driving fast, music loud, hair in the wind and singing/shouting as loud as possible. Those are some of my best memories.
Every year I round up a group of pals and head downtown for a Monster Mash featuring photography and fun makeup. Despite a hurricane, a power outage, and more than a few fallen trees, the tradition continued this October. Here are the pictures from this year accompanied by a collection of my favorite spooky tunes. Hope you enjoy!
Thanks to Ava for helping with makeup.
You may have caught my not-so-subtle love letter to hair, music, and Paramore on the site last month, and if you did, you know how absolutely in love I am with goodDYEyoung– Paramore frontwoman, Hayley Williams, and her amazing hair and makeup artist, Brian O’Connor’s, brand new hair dye line. It perfectly encapsulates all of the things I love: DIY, music (my favorite band, Paramore, specifically!), and HAIR! So when the sweet as can be goodDYEyoung team reached out about sending Sonic Blume some dye to play around with, we haaaad to say yes!
I thought that since you all have already seen the final product of a GDY hair dye party, it might be helpful to show the process as well. So, without further ado, here is Sonic Blume’s foolproof way to get the rainbow hair you’ve always wanted using goodDYEyoung, and a fun playlist to jam while you’re doin’ it!
